Prince Harry in tears, devastated over Prince William’s new military honor
Prince Harry was reportedly devastated after learning that Prince William had been appointed as the colonel-in-chief of the Army Air Corps, a role that Harry had hoped to receive due to his personal service with the unit in Afghanistan. According to royal expert Tom Quinn, this news hit Harry hard, and he was said to have been in tears upon hearing about it. Quinn explained, “King Charles’ announcement… is a real kick in the teeth for the son who always felt marginalized and underrated.”
The timing of the announcement added to the emotional impact on Harry, as it coincided with his return to London to celebrate the 10th anniversary of the Invictus Games. The expert suggested that this deliberate timing was meant to send a message to Harry that he is no longer welcome within the royal family.
Quinn claimed: “They [the royal family] have decided the gloves are off and that Harry needs to realize that when you betray the family, you don’t just escape the things you hated doing as a working royal. You also lose the things you loved.”
The significance of this appointment was deepened by the fact that it was given to Prince William, whom Harry reportedly sees as the cause of many of his problems. Quinn explained: “What makes it much worse is that the role is being given to the very man who Harry sees as the cause of so many of his problems – his brother.” This further fueled Harry’s feelings of being sidelined and undervalued within the royal family.
