Brittany Mahomes provides health update two months after shock news she had a fractured back at age 28
Brittany Mahomes has shared an update on her recovery from a fractured back, two months after linking the injury to being the mother of her two children she shares with husband and Chiefs quarterback, Patrick.
Brittany, who gave birth to her three-year-old daughter Sterling and 17-month-old son Patrick ‘Bronze’, said she’s back to feeling 100 percent and is no longer feeling any pain on Friday.
‘I’m doing great,’ the 28-year-old told E! News. ‘I’m living my best life. My back is no longer broken, so that’s good.’
Brittany – a former soccer pro – noted that she’s restarted her gym routine since the injury, explaining: ‘I’m finally fully recovered and back to doing the things that I’ve always been able to do.
‘I’m staying on top of my health.’
Previously, the NFL WAG associated her back pain to weakened pelvic floor muscles, which she experienced during her pregnancies and childbirths. Many women regain strength in their pelvic floor muscles within two months postpartum, according to Lifespan, although recovery time can vary.
Brittany first expressed her pain while traveling to Mexico with Patrick and her two children following Super Bowl LVIII in Las Vegas in February.
Earlier this month, Brittany and Patrick were spotted at Sports Illustrated party in New York for its swimsuit edition.
Brittany is also undergoing a project for the first purpose-built women’s stadium in the US as co-owner of National Women’s Soccer League club, Kansas City Current.
The stadium cost $117million (£91.86m) to construct and boasts features such as a safe standing section for supporters, while the press box has also been dedicated to American sports journalist and Kansas native Grant Wahl, who died in December 2022 at the age of 49.
Brittany enjoyed a successful football collegiate career at the University of Texas at Tyler, which led to a brief spell at Icelandic side UMF Afturelding in 2017 before retiring from the sport later that year.
