Christine Lampard says her husband Frank is like ‘the son my mum and dad never had’ as she confesses he loves being doted on by his in-laws
Christine Lampard revealed her husband Frank Lampard is like ‘the son my mum and dad never had’ as she told how he loves being doted on by his in-laws.
The Irish presenter, 45, who has been married to football manager Frank, 46, since 2015, told how that she loves the relationship Frank has with her family.
While discussing her parents Frederick and Mina, the beauty told Women & Home: ‘I love the relationship Frank has with my family. Frank is like the son my mum and dad never had.’
She continued: ‘If I’m working or I’m away, he’ll happily sit on the sofa and get spoiled the same way I do, and he loves it.’
The Loose Women panellist also admitted that life with the former Chelsea and England football player has changed somewhat since they had kids Patricia, five, and Freddie, three.
However, she revealed their 15-year romance is still going strong because they make sure to prioritise ‘us time’.
She said: ‘Frank and I always make time for each other, which feels really special. We love getting dressed up, going somewhere nice and having a proper laugh. I still get excited about doing that.’
‘We’ll go out for some food, but if it’s in the evening, we’ll be back at a decent time because we know we’ll get woken up at the crack of dawn by work or a small child.
‘I’m just as happy going out with Frank as I am going out with a gang of girls. I like a sneaky lunch so I can be back early and avoid a hangover.
‘If I knew I could stay in bed and sleep the next day after a night out, fine, but I can’t.’
Christine also discussed how Frank still longs for his mother Patricia, who died aged 58 in 2008, and who they named their daughter after.
She said: ‘There are still moments where losing his mum takes Frank’s breath away, and he can’t quite believe its been so long.’
She added: ‘I didn’t get to meet Frank’s mum but there’s a lovely picture of her in our house and even though the kids are really young, they know exactly who she is.’
