Jason Kelce gushes over ‘insanely impressive’ Taylor Swift – and reveals which moment made him CRY at his first Taylor Swift concert over the weekend.
Jason Kelce was moved to tears by his first Taylor Swift concert over the weekend.
The retired NFL player and his wife, Kylie Kelce, joined his younger brother Travis at the London stop of his girlfriend’s record-breaking Eras Tour.
The former Eagles center said he finally ‘made it to the Eras Tour and watched Tay absolutely shred it’ at Wembley Stadium, on Wednesday’s episode of the New Heights podcast.
‘Dude, it was amazing,’ Jason kicked off the segment, which was recorded on Saturday after he and Kylie attended their first show.
‘It was so cool,’ Travis chimed in. ‘Playing in front of 90,000 at Wembley Stadium.’
Jason emphasized, ‘It was insanely impressive. Obviously Taylor is an amazing singer-songwriter but then to be able to go up there and be a performer at that level for three and a half hours.’
Travis informed his brother that the Love Story hitmaker performs an ‘insane’ 45 songs throughout the set.
‘If I did what she did for one song I’d have to change my clothes,’ Jason joked.
‘I’m in the tent like “gosh I need a break,”‘ Travis added, as his older brother echoed the sentiment, ‘Man I’m tired of drinking these beers and Taylor’s still singing, she’s amazing.’
The Eagles legend went on, ‘I can’t feel my hand anymore because all these friendship bracelets are cutting off my circulation.’
Elsewhere in the episode, Jason revealed which moment from the show brought him to tears.
‘The 22 hat? Dude, I’ve never cried at a f***ing concert and I was literally tearing up watching this little girl’s entire … I’m about to tear up right now. It was f***ing so special,’ he said, referencing the moment during each concert when Swift hands a fedora to a member of the audience while performing her hit song, 22.
‘She got into it, man. It was awesome,’ Travis added. ‘Every single show she does it. And she makes every show unique with the acoustic set.’
Jason told listeners that the acoustic segment of the show, during which she plays two surprise songs from her extensive catalogue was his ‘favorite’ part.
‘She’s blending from one song to another … Like, to be good in front of 9,000 people with just that, I think you have to be amazing. And you have to, one, have great songs and great lyrics, which she obviously has written and made. And then two, be able to perform those seamlessly on the spot, nothing else to hide it, just that was the highlight of the evening for me,’ the father-of-three said.
‘It feels like you’re in a bar just listening to somebody play on a piano,’ he added.
The day after recording their podcast, Travis gave fans the ultimate surprise by joining his girlfriend on stage during her third show at Wembley.
He donned a top hat and tailcoat while performing with two of her backup dancers during an interlude between songs.
