Kate Middleton younger brother, James Middleton Celebrates First Birthday as a Dad with a New Photo Twinning with Baby Inigo
Kate Middleton’s younger brother shared he was “surrounded by family, friends and of course my dogs” on his big day
James Middleton had an adorable companion joining his birthday celebrations for the first time.
Kate Middleton’s younger brother turned 37 on April 15, marking his first birthday since becoming a father. James and his wife, Alizee, welcomed their first child, a son named Inigo, in the fall.
Sharing a new photo with his baby boy on Instagram, James wrote, “Matching bérets to celebrate my Birthday 🎈Surrounded by family, friends and of course my dogs.”
Before Inigo’s arrival, James and Alizee were already the proud parents to six dogs: Mabel, Zulu, Inka, Luna, Nala and Isla. James’ beloved dog Ella, a cocker spaniel who died in early 2023, also provided the inspiration for him to start the dog food company James & Ella, which marked the birthday boy’s big day with a hilarious blooper reel on Instagram.
“It’s James’ birthday today, and the team wanted to celebrate his finest moments over the years,” they captioned the montage.
The reel showed some humorous behind-the-scenes clips that didn’t make it to the final cut due to mistakes. In one scene, James forgets what he’s going to say, turning back to ask his pups, “What’s number three? I can’t remember number three.” In another take, he asks, “Mabel, what’s number three?” as the golden retriever wags her tail in response. In addition to forgetting his lines, the camera takes a tumble — but luckily, James quickly reacts and catches it.
“We’re back, I think,” he says after the recovery. “I’m not sure if I’m in camera.”
His rabbit Pretzel keeps running away in a scene, while another clip shows James surrounded by his dogs and he says, “Dad, I’m just doing some work,” presumably to father Michael Middleton off-screen.
Before Inigo was born, James shared how he was preparing his pets on Good Morning Britain.
“I have pep talks with the dogs quite a lot about what we’re about to be going through, and I think that is a really exciting next step for us as a family. I’m very much looking forward to it, and I know the dogs are very excited,” he said in a video shared by Hello! magazine.
The pup pack has also appeared in many updates about Inigo on social media, from his birth announcement to adventurous vacations to some of the more exhausting parts of having an infant around.
In an April 3 post on the James & Ella Instagram page, an image showed one of James’ golden retrievers with a groggy face and the caption: “My face when I’ve been woken up by the 6 month old 👶 at 4 in the morning 🥱.”
