Patrick Mahomes celebrates new Kansas City Royals feat as MLB franchise continues win streak and closes on division lead
The Kansas City Royals have become playoff contenders, and Mahomes is thrilled to see his city’s sports thriving.
The Royals are up to 30-19 on the season, holding a firm grip on a playoff spot.
Mahomes, who is used to being a perennial playoff contender with the Chiefs, is clearly excited to see another team in Kansas City competing for the postseason.
The Chiefs quarterback went on a tirade on X, reposting five tweets regarding the Royals to show his fandom on Monday.
It wasn’t an isolated incident either, Mahomes has continually showed his support for the Royals throughout the season.
Kansas City has one of the best young cores in baseball, and has already built up an impressive +60 run differential.
This is thanks to their pitching staff having a 3.42 staff ERA, a top ten mark in MLB.
The Royals have two of the best starters in baseball so far, with Seth Lugo and Brady Singer dominating opponents.
Lugo is pitching to a 1.79 ERA with 58 strikeouts. He has seven wins and one loss so far this year.
Singer owns a 2.70 ERA and has thrown 61 strikeouts. He has four wins and two losses so far in the season.
Batters are also helping carry the weight for the Royals at the top of the league.
