Stevie Nicks, 76, cancels Glasgow gig at OVO Hydro just hours before the show due to injury leaving fans ‘devastated’
Stevie Nicks cancelled her show at OVO Hydro in Glasgow five hours before the show due to an injury.
The Fleetwod Mac alum, 76, was set to perform on Saturday evening as part of her UK and European leg tour but had to reschedule due to a ‘leg injury’.
After the announcement, ticketholders were informed the singer has also postponed her upcoming show in Manchester on July 9.
A new date to reschedule both gigs is yet to be announced.
The show was going to mark the first time for Stevie to perform in Scotland since 2015 when she headlined the same venue with Fleetwood Mac.
The official account of OVO Hydro took to X – formerly Twitter – to share the update and wrote: ‘Due to a recent leg injury requiring a minor surgical procedure that will need a few days of recovery time, Stevie Nicks’ scheduled performances in Glasgow Saturday 6 July and Manchester Tuesday 9 July have been postponed.
‘More information will be available at point of purchase, ticketholders are advised to hold on to their tickets as rescheduled dates will be announced soon.
‘Stevie looks forward to seeing everyone at Hyde Park in London.’
Fans were left disappointed with the news with plenty of ticketholders complaining about the short notice and the money loss for hotels, flights, and more, for those who came specifically for the show.
‘Always the way. Everything is always cancelled in favour of keeping London shows happy’;
‘I travel so far for this show!!!! This is insane. Yet London got more show dates. I’m so disappointed. Thousands of dollars for nothing. Wasted time. Wasted money. I’m devastated’;
‘Very disappointing, especially the short notice, that’s the 2nd cancellation in a week after Pearl Jam called off Spurs show last Friday!!! At least she is looking to rearrange unlike PJ….’;
‘Totally last of respect for the people who will already have travelled to Glasgow and spent money on hotels etc. Must have known she was cancelling before today’;
