Taylor Swift ‘so in love’ as she serenades Travis Kelce with romantic songs about him as the Kansas City Chiefs tight end watched on proudly
Taylor Swift sent her fans into a frenzy in Amsterdam last night when she belted out a rare track that fans reckon is a nod to her beau, Travis Kelce.
The pop sensation took the stage on July 6 and treated the packed house to an acoustic medley that included Mary’s Song (Oh My My My) from her self-titled debut album, alongside So High School from The Tortured Poets Department (rumoured to be about Travis), and the fan-favourite Everything Has Changed from the Red album.
The crowd went absolutely wild during the Mary’s Song part of the performance. It tells the tale of two childhood sweethearts growing old together, with lyrics like: “I’ll be 87, you’ll be 89 / I’ll still look at you like the stars that shine / In the sky, oh my my my.”
Ever since Taylor started dating Kansas City Chiefs star Travis Kelce nearly a year ago, this particular song has taken on a new significance. Notably, Travis rocks the number 87 jersey, while Taylor famously references the year 1989 both her birth year and the title of her hit album and it’s also the year Travis was born, reports the Mirror US.
As Taylor performed the song live for the first time in 16 years, her joy was unmistakable. Fans have been buzzing about the “Travis Kelce mega mash-up” ever since, with Swifties all over social media gushing about Taylor’s heartfelt musical tribute as Travis watched from the stands.
Fans are absolutely losing it over Taylor’s recent performances, convinced that her song choices are a nod to her romance with Travis. One fan gushed on social media: “You cannot convince me the invisible string theory doesn’t work because it’s been one year since Travis went to eras with a friendship bracelet and a dream and now she’s f—ing singing marys song which she wrote like 18 years ago with his football number in it.”
