Travis Kelce shows true colours after hitting fan with shot at golf tournament
Travis Kelce may have been a bit off target with his golf swing at the American Century Championship, but the Kansas City Chiefs tight end made sure to check on the fan he hit
Travis Kelce may be a superstar on the football field, but it appears his golf game could use some work after he unintentionally struck a spectator with a misfired shot during the American Century Championship, a star-studded golf tournament. Ever the good sport, Kelce rushed to the fan’s aid displaying genuine concern and showing his caring side.
The incident happened on the 16th hole when Kelce’s stray golf ball hit a bystander who was among the crowd marvelling at celebrities including Buffalo Bills’ Josh Allen, actor Don Cheadle, WWE legend The Miz and ice hockey’s Stanley Cup winner Matthew Tkachuk.
A video clip showcased the fallout of the wayward golf shot, with police officers comforting the hurt spectator, taking down their details and assessing if medical aid was needed. Yet, Kelce couldn’t just carry on.
Proving his kindness, the two-time Super Bowl champion located the injured fan in the crowd, walked over, planted a caring kiss on their injured arm, and softly massaged the area before heading off to tackle the next hole. Luckily, the unfortunate recipient of Kelce’s errant swing seemed unharmed by the mishap.
The incident led to a tide of light-hearted responses from spectators, particularly supporters of his girlfriend, Taylor Swift. One cheeky fan jokingly stated on social media platform X, “Goal for next year… position myself so that I can be hit by Travis’s golf ball.”.
Another pitched in, saying, “Travis can hit me with a golf ball anytime”. One fan cheekily jabbed at Kelce’s golfing prowess, quipping, “How good can Travis possibly be at golf if he’s hitting fans in the first place?”.
