Chiefs make Taylor Swift reference in their Super Bowl ring teaser video after she watched boyfriend Travis Kelce win again in Las Vegas
The Kansas City Chiefs made a Taylor Swift reference in their Super Bowl ring teaser video posted to social media this week.
Swift’s presence during the Chiefs latest run to the Super Bowl and eventual championship victory was obvious, as her relationship with tight end Travis Kelce became public last September.
Their romance skyrocketed Kelce’s mainstream popularity, with Swift attending 13 games last season in between dates for her stadium shows on ‘The Eras Tour’.
The video is narrated by actor and Missouri native Jon Hamm and stars Chiefs players George Karlaftis and Trent McDuffie in suits looking at the history of the team.
The video’s tagline says ‘Greatness never goes out of style’, quoting a line from one of Swift’s most famous songs ‘Style’.
‘Style’ came from Swift’s 2014 album ‘1989’ with the title word popping up in the track 11 times.
Kansas City had a 10-3 record in the games Swift attended last season, including all four of the team’s playoff victories in different cities.
‘The Eras Tour’ finishes its European leg in August, giving Swift plenty of time to watch the Chiefs for several weeks of the regular season before concluding the tour in Canada in November and December.
That also means Swift would be free to watch another playoff run for the Chiefs in early 2025.
Kelce and Swift’s romance has stayed strong after the conclusion of the NFL season, with a trip last month to Lake Como in Italy in between her stadium shows.
This will be Travis’ first NFL season with Swift’s aura of celebrity around him to start the season. It’ll also be the tight end’s first year without older brother Jason also playing in the league.
